Send Internet content to TV--devices

I am really tired of all the wires and adaptors I have to send Internt video streams from my laptop to the TV....

what's working best to get Internet content from my laptop to the TV....links appreciated....thanks a lot....

also posted this under movies....

    did a search...the Internet is my friend.....there seem to be several options and wanted to know what people who do such things recommend....a few years ago both audio and video broadcasting of Internet streams apparently had a lot of issues---as in, not user friendly...

    Lots of options. Maybe even get something dedicated instead of using your laptop. Or build your own small HTPC.

    Oppo BDP83 (or others) even have Internet capabilities which you could use DLNA protocol with, and push content from laptop to TV.

    Believe it or not SONY Playststion will do that either wired or wirelessly. Admitedly, you don't have benefit of a mainstream browser but it does work. I also use the PS III for downloading movies direct from Netflix. You might want to check the SONY website.

    I second the PS3.

    I use a PC app called PlayOn to serve internet and movies from Amazon VOD, Youtube, HuLu etc from my computer wirelessly to the PS3. As others have said there are many options.

    I can use the PS3 for blu-ray and SACD (its an older model not the slim)....in fact I bought it primarily for blu-ray not for game play.

    I think you misread it - $89.99 not $899.00.

    But, if Op just wants Netflix / hulu type streaming I would agree on the various devices out there.

    Right now I can stream Netflix via the 360, PS3, Wii, and directly using my LG TV's built-in Netflix / hulu / youtube. But prior to the console discs, I too used PlayOn.

    The devices are all there ..just depends on what exactly you want to stream.

    Actually perhaps I should apologize - you're right in that you'd probably end up spending $899 b/c apparently the laptops have to be Intel Wireless Display "enabled".
