I looking for some suggestions of an affordable (less than 200) tube DAC with a USB input. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.

    mavaudio has one.. can't remember the website.. but it doubles as a pre as well.
    Main 2ch -
    BlueSound Node->Ethereal optical cable->Peachtree Audio Nova 150->GoldenEar Triton 2+
    TT - Pro-ject Classic SB with Sumiko Bluepoint.

    TV 3.1 system -

    I have heard good things about the Music Hall 25.2 tube dac and they now have a 25.3 model.

    Not sure about it's USB input, but I don't think the tube in the unit is utilized when using it's XLR connections.

    Not sure if you can find one used to meet your price objective. I think they retail for about +/- $600.00.

    I have seen some real nice one for about 400ish but all i want it to do is a better DAC then I have now which has a lot of noise out of my usb port with a little tube buffer,
    If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.

    Around October, Mike Allen told me Jolida should have a Tube DAC (Glass FX Tube DAC) for around $350 retail.
