help,my center channel amp has major distortion

i own a pioneer vsx-1015tx,and the center channel is completely distorted,does it sound like output transistor ?

    Try hooking it up in place of one of your front channels and see if it is still distorted. Should tell you if it is the Receiver or the speaker...then you can go from there..

    Sounds like you over did it volume wise on the center. Regardless,try the above mentioned advice first. What center are you useing anyway?

    the center channel is bad not the speaker

    did you try the other speaker in its place? Have you tried a different speaker cable at all to the speaker itself? Is it only distorted on lower volume or high? Check also to see if for some reason somethingin the menu setting changed and is now running incorrectly such as having the center level too high ect.

    Also check the metal jumpers (if any) on the back fo the speaker are intact and correctly in place.

    There are so many variables to check at this point, that they really do all need to be checked before I woudl crack open the AVR and look there.
