I am planning to buy a tube dac to take the edge off of digital from a computer. There was a recommendation from a polkie member saying I should buy the Eastern Electric tube DAC and it is being highly considered. Budget is $800. My main goal is to get a warm sound.

I was reading a review on the Eastern Electric DAC and he was saying it has the Sabre DAC too, what's so special about it ?
I use floorstanding speakers with an external amp. I don't use headphone, not so sure if this would change the recommendation of a good DAC
is this the same dac u are using ? http://www.amazon.com/Peachtree-Decco-Integrated-Amplifier-Built/dp/B0035GM2C0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1282439536&sr=8-1Speaker: LSi 15

I'm very happy with my Music Hall dac25.2. I swaped out the stock tube for an NOS Amperex Bugle Boy & what a difference it made, not subtle to say the least. And being a tweeker, I just took out the stock op-amps & replaced them with Burson Audio HD dual op-amps. Talk about a sonic upgrade!!!!
