Whenever I shipped via FedEx, if the destination is a business address, the rate was almost always cheaper. I believe there is a check box to indicate if the destination is a residential or business address. If you find the same thing, the buyer could have it shipped to their work or something to save a few bucks.
Another option is to see if the buyer can arrange shipping via their work to get a bulk rate and just pay them back. I used to do that often via my companies FedEx account.

Could you PM me the shipping box size and weight? I want to plug into my FedEx account to see what rings up. If not too bad, I might PM you an offer, if you'd be willing to drop off at your local FedEx and use my account #...

You could always just create the shipping label online and email it to him. At least that is how Doro does it for the Polk Demos.

OP you should post this link over on the Emotiva fourm as well if you have not. That is how I sold my XPA-2.

    GLWTS

+1. Earlier this year, I sold my year-old XPA-2 over there literally in minutes, and recouped every penny I had in it, shipping included. I also sold my XPA-3 here, for about $100 less than what I paid. Funny thing was, I got a couple offers for full price on that a couple of days later. Emotiva made transferring the warranty to the new owners a cinch. All it took was an email with the serial #.

90 pounds boxed. I'll keep playing with it, there may be a cheaper option.

FedEx quoted $84.75 to SoCal from NC. That does seem high, doesn't it?

Yep, that's about what it costs to ship a box that heavy.

Best of luck with the sale. That amp is gonna make someone happy! :)

Hey, guys, thanks for advice etc. (And congrats Mole, hope you like your new amp.)

I had some idea that listing on two forums simultaneously was frowned upon. Like bigamy or voting twice. But "sold in minutes" sound great so I'm going to leave this listing up, and post something at Emo forum right away.

honestly the emo forum will eat this up, they always do. the XPA-5 is considered a huge seller and typically are gone quicker than the 3's or 2's because lot of people want them for their HT's

that is where i found the one im getting at. local and no shipping cost/hassle FTW! Hilbert has a lower than normal selling price so it should sell fast over there. might even get someone local to him.

Hey - it's your gear, you need maximum exposure to sell! I've "multi-site" listed before, but I always indicate as such. I've never had one complaint about it...

Ever notice how Ford, Coke, M&M Mars, etc. advertise on more than one network??

    Thanks for all the advice.

The amp has been listed at Emotiva but so far no nibbles. If you have time to kill, and you'd like to assist, and you have an Emo forum account, you might consider going there and leaving a gasping and moaning post or two in the thread (I'm hilbert with a small h).

Meanwhile, the amp is still available. Don't be shy folks. Step right up. :)

If I would not have just bought an XPA-3, I'd be all over it! And, I live in NC. Bummer.

LOL...layaway man havent heard that in a bit....

Hope this goes soon. The plan for me personally is to hold out till the LSi line starts to drop and hopefully pop on a pair of LSi 7, 9 or 15's. This would be a great amp to power those, but until then my Carver will have to suffice :)

Just don't try to bump off my customers :)

Re layaway, the thing's been lying away in my living room for months already. That's the problem.

Major nibble at Emotiva FM. It happened only about 5 minutes after Mole' posted a plug for my amp. He's a miracle worker.

The mods attached a SOLD icon to this thread a little too soon in my opinion, but...no harm done. It is SOLD.

Thanks to all who contributed in various ways.
