I'm going to put this up for sale. Only had it for about a month and purchased off audiogon. It has a seperate power supply from the main body and is in good condition. Would rate it 8/10. There are a few scratches and dings on the faceplate.

Only selling as I can't use it the way in intended. 260.00 +shipping. I'll cover paypal fees. There is not an original box that comes with these however the packaging that it came in will be included.

    Ok let me know. I think there is also another name these go under and are sold on ebay around 430-450 bucks but the name I can't remember off the top of my head.

    Thanks! I'm hoping it sells quick. I like it when I'm playing CD's ect but seeing it might be awhile before I figure out how to get my computer to do what I want it to do, didn't make sense to keep it for now. In the future I might play around with a NOS DAC as I liked the sound of it, but I've also been listening to wayyy too much vinyl lately.

    also can find reviews on the unit under Valabs NOS DAC. It is a good unit and is a plug and play with USB (just didn't work for me because XP media center edition does not have the proper USB drivers otherwise Vista, or regular XP works just fine).

    also need to add this unit has been modded with prp resistors and sonicap cap-2. This was done by the previous owner.

    That looks pretty cool....but the fact it has no power chord leaves me craving a rock anthem. :D

    The seperate power supply is always a nice feature....$240? That's a nice deal.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    Hrmmmm.... Chris, is the main attraction with this that it's a USB dac? Or does it serve quite nicely as a "normal" DAC as well?

    Don't you/didn't you have a 51FD? How much of a difference are we talking about here?

    I have this weird feeling that i'm just going to end up buying all your old stuff. Starting with the 15s. :p

    Well seeing XP Media whatever verison doesn't let me use the USB function as now my comptuer doesn't even recongize my ipod connected I've had this solely hooked up as my DAC with coaxial with my Pio player.

    I did not compare the sound of the BDP-05FD as thats in my HT but I've been using the Pio AV-48 with it and prefer the sound of the DAC rather than the player. I just feel it sounds more "natural" to me. More like vinyl than digital IMO.

    Hrmm... i think the 48 has a different internal DAC than the 51FD. The 51FD is already pretty "vinyl-y" to me.

    Did we ever verify that the 05 uses the same DAC? I know one uses Wolfson, and the other uses Burr Brown i though... i didn't think they were the same. I could be wrong. If they're the same, you know my ears and what i like, so i'll trust your judgement.
