    Hi Jim,

    i couldn't pm you because i haven't done enough posts, apparently.

    i haven't heard these speakers in 20 years, but i remember really liking them. the only polks i have are lsi25s and lsi9s, but i've been thinking lately about sda. i'm in norman; do you have time for a tire-kicker to come have a listen? i have a pair of norman laboratories model 9s i could bring along (or the lsi25s if you want to hear them), if that's cool. i've had NLs forever and they're kind of my reference.

    Hi Steve. I'm sorry but they just left my house 5 minutes ago. A very nice guy from Kansas City drove down today. They are his first SDA's !!!

    Yup that was me...I would love to say that I now own the pair but I had to give my next door neighbor/friend first dips on the pair who has wanted one since he was a kid. He drove down there with me navigating..They are freaking awesome and glad to say I made it back to KC in one piece..
    Neskahi is a great seller and very knowledgeable. He took great time to explain to us what to expect from SDA's and the demo was exactly as described.
    We both have read a lot about these speakers but it was the first time listening to them. Its sad that I am not listening to them now as I write this but some friendships trump all. Oh well I will get plenty of listening right down the street at my buddy's house.

    thanks, Jim. too bad i missed out on hearing them, but i'm glad they went to a good home.

    thejck, i feel your pain. i have my mac amps set up at my brother's place because his room sounds so much better than mine. he's not just down the street, but at least i have a key to his house. maybe your buddy would let you have a key; after all, you let him have first dibs....;)

    I'm sure it won't be long til you find another pair available thejck. Just keep checking here on the flea market or CL, fleabay,,A-gon , etc...

    Are you holding out for SRS's? I have a nice pair of 2B's I would let go for $250. And you wouldn't have to drive to OK to get 'em! I could even deliver.

    Hey thejck. We just didn't have enough time Sunday to talk shop because you had a long drive and needed to get on the road. I'm sure you have read much about the different mods on the forum and I wanted to share with you the two I would have done to these SRS's if I were to have kept them. The first is dynamat on the driver baskets.
    I think anyone here will attest to that. And I have read here on the forum that cabinet
    resonance is a little high on the earlier models like SRS. Others can chime in here but
    I think some bracing in the cabinets may help too. The two together should really
    be an improvement.

    Thanks for the offer..let me get these up and running at my neighbors and if I think I can settle for something smaller than the big boys I will let you know.

    Thanks for the info. I have been scouring the forum reading about the different mods/upgrades that can be done..
    One though that I had is since Polk doesnt carry some of the drivers for the SDA's anymore are there options in the after market area where replacement drivers can be had if one were to die.

    We have been talking about getting a few projects going this fall/winter to see what we want to get done.
