What amp work well with Onkyo 707?

I currently have an Onkyo 607 and an Rti setup. The sound is good but I need to really crank the receiver up during movies to get some explosive sound. Since there is no pre-out option, I'm thinking about going to the 707. I would do the 708, but 3D is not an option for me at least for the next few years.
I found the 707 on Amazon.com for $499 and was going to add an external amp to power all 5 channels.
Any recommendations? I'd like to stay under $400-500, and possibly get something new. I know Sunfire amps are expensive and good, and I'm not familiar with the Adcom.

new at 400-500 for a 5 channel will be hard. Your going to have to look at used, the only amp I know new at a really low price would be the Emotiva at 800 bucks for a 5 channel. Otherwise it would be the used market. There are lower wattage amps that could be had for less too, however if you would want a sunfire, save up and get a sunfire. To me some of the others that are cheaper are not going to sound (to me) as good as the sunfire. Used can be a good route to go, audiogon is the place to go.
PS shipping is a PITA and not cheap when you start getting beefier amps. so beware. -
UPA-5 is on sale until Sunday at $494 shipped...

The Emotiva seems like a great deal. Under $500 and that's shipped. Not bad.
For home theater and general TV watching, do you guys tend to leave the pre-amp on all the time?~Dan

Check out the NAD T955. Not quite at your price point - but very aggressively discounted at Audio Advisor (w/free shipping). I've had mine working behind a 707 for about ten days and couldn't be more pleased.

There are several Carver AV 705x's right now on ebay for under $500. Great amps, excellent for the RTI series. Plenty of power, and sounds great.
