I will try(I Promise) to make this as short and accurate as possible.I had been using my older Onkyo as a pre and my Emotiva XPA-5 to drive my 15's.I picked up my B&K 200.7 amp today and had to compare the two.The XPA-5 is an excellent amp for the money and definitely worth more than it sells for.I hooked up my Emotiva UMC-1 for the first time today.I also have all new speaker cable and interconnects.I ran the Emo's together then ran the UMC and B&K together. The B&k was from Ebay.It was basically new old stock with zero hours on it.According to MY ears...The Emo's soundstage was not as detailed and deep as the B&K's but still sounded very nice matched to the UMC.I did a very hasty setup on the processor so there is much more tuning needed for sure. The B&k came across as a softer more refined delivery but still had plenty of bass. The LSI's certainly woke up and let me re-realize what a bang for the buck they truly are.Has anybody else ran these 2 different amps with your 15's or 25's and come to a similiar conclusion? Anyway,my two cents worth.I am very happy with either amp.I will do the HT test next and see how they fair against each other. These were just tested in 2 channel today.Feedback and/or thoughts....... Eddie

I drove my LSi system with a Sunfire Cinema Grand and an Emotiva amp (don't remember which) It was no contest. Which is how it should be for $2000 difference in retail!

The XPA is simply out classed by the B&K. No comparison in my book. Glad your diggin' it though. The LSI's will suck up as much as you want to throw at them, and let you hear when you make a change in gear or cables. Congrats,it only gets better from here on out. You may be poorer though.:D

I had a xpa-3 and decided to try a B&K 4420. It was night and day difference. The b&k brought the sound I was looking for, laid back huge soundstage, and easy on the ears. You can tell the xpa's are made for ht with the in your face sound they produce. But for music they were very picky with what song I played, only sounded good with the best quality source.
