Looking for creative way to switch on A/V Cooler

Hi, I figured I would post my dilemma here and see if you all had any thoughts. I use an Antec A/V cooler to keep my Amp cool. Without it, it runs pretty hot. My problem is I want to make it so whenever my AMP is on the cooler is on. The Amp does not have a Switched A/C outlet on it. Can anyone think of anyway I could possibly make the fan automatically come on when the Amp is turned on? I would like to avoid leaving it on all the time. It's low power but I don't want it to get clogged with dust..
I know the Amp doesn't have any A/C power out, but I noticed it has an IR/control out on it. My Monster Power HTS 3500 has a D/C input that can be used to trigger its own switched outlets on it. I read both owners manuals and started to wonder, if I ran a cable (mono headphone cable) from the Amp's Remote out to the Monster HTS Remote D/C Signal in (mono headphone jack), could that trigger the switched outlets on the HTS ? I know the Amp's remote out is intended to control other Pioneer devices but if it sends any D/C power out, could it be enough to trigger the Monster HTS? The Monster owners manual was extremely basic and doesn't say how much voltage it needs in order to trigger the switched outlets.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

That's probably serial-type data coming out of that port which will not flip a DC trigger. keep your eyes on ebay for a current sensing switch. Niles makes one, but they're pricey.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

Some available solutions switch on based on temperature. I have a Middle Atlantic (I think) based kit which I got for free and it is either always on or you can move the jumpers to tell to to activate based on temperature.

Some one showed me a smart power strip. It looks like it might work for what i was needing.
