So I found a great deal on a Arcam AVP700(pre/pro), now the Arcam and the Oppo arrive on Friday!

Talk about sensory overload!

Post reviews as soon as I spend some time with them!

And I was sonic heaven the last few days as my A7's just finally broke in!...:cool:

    Congrats, now the only thing left to do is upgrade that carver, and maybe add a sub,and you'll be set for along time.

    "Sounds" very exciting! I envy you in a positive way. I'm hoping to upgrade my ICs sometime soon, and then eventually acquire a 3- or 5-channel amplifier. (With the Economy in the shape that it is who knows when that will happen?)

    I would be really interested in hearing your take on how the arcam and your A7's sound together. I'm in the market right now for new speakers as i have just sold my Monitor 70's.

    I was kinda scared to get the A7 without hearing them first, but the A9 was too big. The brightness has gone away since they have broken in more. I consider them to be very accurate in the high end, or lively. Plus the Carver helped tame them.

    Being a former musician my take on natural is probably diff. But I find the mid range top notch, accurate and quick. Imaging is outstanding along with depth.

    The bass has really become full and digs deep, without becoming muddy. I don't think these need a sub, but that depends on I guess your acoustical environment and power supply.

    so far I havnt found the need for a sub in ht either. I can shake the house!

    It will be interesting to hear the Arcam with these. And the Oppo. I am really interested in hearing how the onboard dac on the Arcam handles my pc based music.

    Oh and Jay? It was impossible to pass up that Arcam for $500!:D

    Yeah no kidding. I saw that one and was very interested but i think i want to hold out for an av9. First i gotta get me some speaks though. I'm going crazy not having my tunes. It's been a week now :(

    ooo, been there done that. Not fun. Resulted in some very irrational, splurge financial decisions in the past!:rolleyes:
