another thing that bimmer driver might want to tkae note of, the way he got out of that car and approached the driver in the mazda was done in a hostile fashion, and the mazda driver had little to no safe way of retreat.

he stayed in the car and stayed cool, which worked well for him...... but

i'll be honest, i would have gotten out of the car, and fast. not becasue i'm an asskicker or something, but becasue if someone is going to attack you, you do NOT want to be in a car with an open window.

that guy might do that to the wrong person someday. I would never do what the bimmer driver did no matter how mad I was, and definitly not in the middle of a mountain road with blind turns.

Yup. Too many people carry these days. There's hardly a day that goes by that my protection doesn't make it to my truck when I go somewhere.

Carry? You're driving a 1-2 ton death machine. Run the jerk over!

Yes you can. Some makes may stop this.

Press and hold clutch at all time. Shift to neutral, now shift to reverse, back to neutral, and back into gear.

edit: tailgate me if you don't believe me. I did it often enough on my old nissan sentra.

    Didn't that car get smashed ? ;):D

I have an extended full size truck weighed down with batteries and sound deadening. I'd have better luck trying to run him over with a golf cart...

Yeah, my sister smashed up the front end real good. Maybe she should have dropped it in reverse!

Well, even if it gets to 60 in 18 seconds, it just has to get to 20 MPH in a reasonable amount of time. I don't care how fast Super BMW Man there is, he ain't gonna catch you on foot and if he follows you by car, drive to a police station or a patrol car. He'll forget you exist real fast.

And if y'all think his reaction to a Mazda was bad, you should see how they react when they can't seem to shake a pickup truck!

I've moved out of the way of other cars who can't stop due to following too closely on many occasions. Thank God for the hard shoulder!
The problem I'd have with that it that it's become almost routine for people to follow so close that THEY need the shoulder for extra stopping room... I've had several behind me who ended up stopping next to me - looking kinda dumb, as they're now on the shoulder and the people who were behind them no longer want to let him back on the road!

My coworker's 18-yr-old son recently lost a couple of teeth when the driver in front of him stopped "for no reason" and walked back to confront him. When the kid put down his window, the guy popped him in the mouth and walked away. My co-worker bought the kid's story... Even if it was my own kid, I'd have trouble believing that one. I'm thinking the kid must have provoked him in some way - tailgating, high beams, words exchanged, something...

I like to wash my windshield when someone is too close.... they back off FAST and then have to wash their own windshield. Not only does it work, it's legal (you can get in a lot of trouble if you are seen "brake checking"), and it's really funny.

    Try it sometime! :)
