Proper Fitting for Speaker Stands?
Alright guys. I've searched and found nothing, really, for off-the-shelf-speaker stands for my speakers. Which lead me to to trying to find a guide on google about the best (proper, if you will) way to fit stands to speakers in general.
The most helpful thing was a weight chart on Samus' website. But the stands that fit the weight of my speakers didn't seem that the top plate was big enough to support.
So, first, in general, what's the best way to fit some speakers to stands?
Second, I'm trying to fit PolkAudio TSi200's for rear surrounds. Wall mount is out of the question, and I haven't the time, patience, know-how, or budget to build myself.

For fronts, generally you want the tweeter to be on level field with your ear. Stand type shouldn't matter, so long as its sturdy. Less resonance = better. Some have filled their steel tubed stands with leadshot to deaden the tubes.
The top plate does not have to be the same size as the speaker. A 4" x 4" plate should accommodate most bookshelf speakers, unless they're considerably larger than average. -
Thanks Dane. These will be for rears, though. I run my RTA's as fronts so i can switch 'em to 2-channel for music.

For rears, I would position the tweeters outside the direct listening plane. (2"+ above ideally) This will help with ambience and reduce "directional" sound. Point the rears either straight forward or directly at each other for added effect. They should not face the listener directly.

Thanks again... I guess I didn't phrase this right... It's not so much placement as how to choose the right size plate on the stand? Like, most that say they support the weight of the stand only have a 4x4 or 6x6 plate. The speaker is 17.x lbs and has a 7 x 15 base.
So how would a person properly fit the speaker to the right stand size? Would 6x6 work?

At 8" w/ 11" d, you'd be okay with either. 6x6 would be optimal, but with some nice stand putty or something, 4x4 would work too.

This is where I got my stands back when I had a pair:
