I might be interested.will these be a drop in replacement for the peerless or the sl1000? I have a brand new pair of rdo194s that i got from Polk but the cutout on my 10s is to small for them. Somebody at Polk told me that these would be a drop in replacement for sl1000,but that's not so!! I have the 10's with the Slightly smaller grill with the logo on the bottom of the cabinet instead of on the grill.Could i get photo"s?
Thanks,
Ronl -

No, the 2500's won't work. They're the same size as the RD0-194's, and would require modification to the cutout and crossovers to make them work. I just replied in your other thread...
Your best bet would be to track down an original Peerless tweet. They're easy enough to find.:)The nirvana inducer-

Peerless is different than older Polk models. XO modifications are required and only the SL1000 has the same cut-out.
SL1000, SL2000, & RDO-194's are the same electrically.
SL2500, SL3000, & RDO-198's are the same electrically.polkaudio Monitor 5 Series II

What do you have?"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. SL3000s, which are now for sale. Just didn't want anyone confused with the title.

Those came out of the 7's
. The photos in your upgrade thread show sl2000's which means those weren't series II unless someone swapped tweets.
Anyways good luck with the sale...........which ever tweets you have

Sorry about the pm i sent you,my mistake ,i thought that you were inquiring about the rdo 194'spowerguymark wrote: »I'd like to have them. call me: 352-254-0331 -
Your M7 Series II's had SL3000's.

Hmm...I've never heard of that.
Is it possible that these were very late production examples? Perhaps they stopped producing the 2500's, and the 3000's were still being produced, and they used the 3000's with the rest of the M7 SII inventory?

I did this. I bought a pair of Monitor 4.6 with SL2500s on Craigslist on the super cheap. One of the SL2500s was shotsky and I got tired of hunting down a single SL2500, so I simply found a pair of SL3000 on the cheap to get them back up and running.
Never heard both SL2500s working, so can't compare the two; but I think the SL3000s sound quite nice compared to the SL2000s in my other speakers.
