I just bought a pair of SDA 2's and a Sony DS3000es the amp specs say it will operate on either 4 ohms or 8 I understand the SDA 2's are 4ohms. I cant figure out how to set the amp to 4 ohms or how to tell what it is set at? Can any one help?

it should have a switch on back, if not it will automatically handle 4 ohms but check for the switch on back, does your receiver have pre-outs?

You don't need to "set" it for 4 ohms, as long as there isn't any kind of selector on the back.

If the speakers are presenting a 4 ohm load, the amp will automatically deliver it. Impedances aren't a constant...they're constantly rising and falling depending on the demands of the source material.

Which SDA 2's do you have? I believe the earliest ones with 3 mid-woofers and dual(dimensional) tweeters are 4 ohms...but the later ones are either 6 or 8 ohms.
