Yes you read it right I am selling my clamp that I bought off of Joe. This is the best turntable clamp that you can buy. There are only a few that are out there and hardly ever come up for sale, kind of like a rare car. It truly pains me to sell it but some recent medical issues are forcing me to sell it. There are plenty of threads on the forum regarding people’s love of the clamp. I do not have the shims but Joe said he would help me out with that. Joe has graciously offered to field all questions about the clamp whether it is about its design, construction or use. Please contact him via PM or email to ask him questions and he will keep me up-to date on all questions asked. I’m really trying to keep this item in the Polk Family so don’t miss out on this rare and excellent item. I am asking 350 shipped and will accept money orders only. Please PM if intrested.

BTW pictures of the clamp can be found in the links below.

Here are some links you can peruse to find out more and get all the details about this special and vital piece of gear for a turntable.

Wow Dave, it saddens me greatly to see that your are in such a financial bind. It's a shame that you have to sell off your gear and it really pains me to see you giving up "The Clamp." But you gotta do what you gotta do so I wish you luck. If I had the funds I would buy it back in a heartbeat!

Folks don't miss this opportunity, I have absolutely no clamps left except for the one on my turntable so this is your lucky day. The demand was so great for this item that I even sold my spare!!!:(

If you have any questions at all about "The Clamp" please don't hesistate to contact me via PM or email. Remember the spelling of my screen name is "hearingimpared."

Good luck Dave and good luck to the impending new lucky owner of "The Clamp"

BTW I suggest you read the links above in their entirety. It will provide you with a wealth of knowedge about the clamp and you will see what others who have tried it out in the swap and the owners impressions.

Joe, there seems to be so much demand, why don't you make more of these?

MONEY! The costs of materials and manufacture, especially if an injection mold is used for the delrin parts is astronomical. I've had it priced out at three different machine shops in China and to make it even remotely affordable with a bit of profit the consensus is that I would have to have 1000 clamps made. Even if I went into a partnership with the brick & mortar store I deal with, there would need to be a large sum of money to get the ball rolling. I've been assured that 1000 of these clamps would sell however they would be in $500 to $550 category thus they may not sell quickly enough for a good return on investment.

I am looking into having 25 made in a machine shop that one of our members here is in with but we haven't had time to talk seriously about it.

According to the Chinese shops, delrin and brass prices have become very high. Not to mention the cost of the composite spring.

WHOA!!! I just saw! CONGRATS GEORGE!!!! I'm elated that YOU snagged it.

Well you know my phone number for any questions and I have dug up the shims although I'm short one and need to find it so you can have a complete set. When I do, which should be shortly, I'll get them right out to you.

I'm a very happy camper right now. Dave's getting some financial help and you my friend are finally getting one of my labors of love!!!!

Hmmm, and considering that I am the supervisor of a production machining dept. with full cad/cam access and able to hold production tolerances of .01mm...and have in my personal shop full polishing capability and could within a semi-short period, put the plating facilities back in order.

Things that make you say hmmmmmm...

. . . hmmmm is right. . . no problem in a joint effort here to have a small batch of these gems manufactured.

For both you and Larry; how's your ability to get great prices on delrin, brass, stainless steel (for pins, although I have a whole bag full of them), and working the composite material used in the internal spring? When I first had the clamps made I could afford an injection mold so I had each individual part for each clamp machined. Any ideas on how you guys could possibly keep that cost down?

Another thought just hit me. I need to have a draftsman measure and create a new drawing as mine is now very illegible and I can't remember the sizes and tolerances of the parts.
