Rotel RB-980bx external amp

Selling this amp that I bought just last year from the FM because I changed to a 5 channel amp from Adcom. It's a great amp, I simply no longer need it. I used it with LSi9's and it works great. Need to sell so wife doesn't get too mad that I bought another piece of gear. Original thread:

Basic power spec is 120x2 @8 ohms, 200x2 @4 ohms. The only issue is that when I received it a left side bezel was broken in the packaging. Not really visible from the front. Never tried to glue it back. There is glue on the bezel already so I am not sure if from factory or if someone already tried to glue it once before. I will include the bezel pieces with the sale. :) Front has some small nicks in the upper right and top has some scratches in the rear-back. There may be some other marks here and there but nothing major. Enjoy the pics. More pics in the original thread.

    I'll vouch for that amp. I currently have one powering my surrounds (LSi9's). won't be getting rid of it anytime soon. great, often underappreciated piece of gear.

    Bump.

    Nobody wants a 200W Rotel amp and Polk R50's for $230? Of course you can buy just the amp or the R50's for less. I would have thought this would have sold already at this price.

    Good job Marco with the packing, I think you could have dropped that box from 20ft and it wouldnt have done any damage to the amp! lol Ive been testing this with my vintage Onkyo A-7022 integrated amp as the pre, with great results! It almost has a tubelike sound, very warm and powerful with great detail. So far ive ran it through my 10's and 7's and powered them with ease. It really brought out the best in my Paradigm mini monitors. My next test is going to be my Mirage M390is's, I think these will sound incredible with this setup.

    I like the sound and the underated power this amp delivers, it seems to be as powerful as my Adcom 555 (which is rated at 80watts more per channel) and much warmer and detailed.
    Most of them only hear how loud it sounds, and the rest of us hear everything else - :rolleyes:

    20ft... well I tested it at 15 and it seemed to survive. JK.

    Glad you like the amp. I probably should have kept it, but I have limited closet space to store good gear I may someday use again.
