Hello everybody,

i have been looking to purchase an amp to move my rtia7 speakers, since everybody here recommends this, i currently move them biamped with my pioneer elite vsx23 receiver and like very much the sound of them.

However i have read that if properly matched with an external amp the sound will be so much better, that it got me tempted.

So the question is, in your opinion which is a better choice adcom gfa555 or the nad c372? Also if neither of these could you recommend some. The adcom is 200 wpc and the nad is 150 wpc, but some people say that nad wpc are more strong than many amps.

Thanks in advance,

ed.

I'd get the 555, it's a very nice amp for the price with plenty of power.

Cant go wrong with the Adcom IMO. Rotel RB990BX is one to look out for also.

I had the Adcom 555 so I am a little biased. It is a solid performer.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

NADs are solid performers and as you already stated are very conservatively rated power-wise. IMHO they have a much nicer warmer house sound than the Adcoms. Unless of course you get a modded Adcom with Musical Concepts upgrades.

I have that Adcom myself and a good pre or mods help to warm it up a bit so I'd think about what hearingimpared has said.

Power shouldn't be a problem with either amp. The Adcom is virtually indestructible and the NAD has great headroom!

In either case that Pioneer should make a decent pre-processor for you for now.
