Songs you Hate yourself for Liking

(and only listen to when you know no one else knows you're listening)

For me, it's probably ABBA's "Dancin' Queen"

For my wife, it's the Fortunes "Here Comes that Rainy Day Feelin' Again"

Pretty bad, huh? But I'll bet you guys also have some examples. :):)

Most of her songs are so damned catchy it's hard not to like them on some level, even as you realize they're devoid of any musical content :) And if you want an "image" to go with a song, watch the video for "I'm a Slave 4 U". A legitimately horrible song but it's Brit at her hottest (and she's gone a LONG way downhill since).

As far as my guilty pleasures, I think half the songs I like qualify. :)

    Aqua - Barbie Girl

And my biggest "guilty pleasure" are most of the songs off the Glee soundtrack (tv show). Especially their rendition of Sweet Caroline.

She did it also. ONJ covered it on a 1973 album, of which I have the CD somewhere around here.

    From the infamous Wiki:

Olivia was a commercial failure when released in the UK on Pye International in 1972 as the follow-up to 1971's If Not for You. An American release of the LP never materialized, nor did a single. Therefore the recording label did not want to risk to place the album in the United States on Uni Records, her U.S. label at the time. The following album of Newton-John, Let Me Be There, would reach the sales position (U.K Chart: 37) that earned it the certification "Gold".

The cover art done in blue tint was later used (in blueish-green tint) as the cover of the U.S. release of Let Me Be There on MCA Records in 1973 following the success of the hit single penned by John Rostill.

    [edit] Product Description (U.S.)
The digitally-remastered reissue of 1972 album for Festival, complete with the original cover art. Not released in the United States previously, Olivia contains 14 tracks, including covers of Bread's Everything I Own, George Harrison's "What Is Life" and "Behind That Locked Door" and Merrilee Rush's Angel of the Morning.

    [edit] Track listing
    1.Angel of the Morning
    2.Just a Little Too Much
    3.If We Only Have Love
    4.Winterwood
    5.My Old Man's Got a Gun
    6.Changes
7.I'm a Small and Lonely Light
    8.Why Don't You Write Me

It's funny because whenever I participate in one of these threads, eventually person A recognizes a song that person B considers a guilty pleasure, but person A believes to be a good song and shouldn't be considered a guilty pleasure! :)

I've already found mine... "Diamonds And Pearls" by Prince. Great tune!

I'm not ashamed to admit that I love listening to Muse! Would love to see them perform live.

It takes a bit more courage, however, to admit that I enjoy several songs by P!nk.... Who knew, Don't Leave Me, and So What, to name a few. Plus, she's not bad to look at, IMO. Although I don't care much for their musical styles for the most part, I think Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera are both very talented, with great voices.
