Where to find an OEM remote?

Just bought an AVR-247 for $60, but it has no remote. Anyone know where I can find the OEM one?

If not, I might use the money I saved to get a harmony. The universalremote (universalremote.com) mx-900 just isn't cutting it, talk about user unfriendly.

remotes.com was my first thought, however, for $50, I would buy an Harmony from CL. Also watch CL, as there is a couple of guys who post here (Seattle) for massive lists of remotes, usually for $10-15

No I didn't, but thats why I have you guys :)

I point out the obvious to my guys here at work, seems fair for you guys to do it for me here!

That's not bad at all. $35 shipped to my door.

Thats $64 for the receiver and $35 for the remote. $99 for a 7.1 with HD decoding isn't bad at all :)

Gonna take the Sony 555ES to pasture finally!

    Congrats on the purchase.
I found three receivers this weekend at yard sales. 2 had remotes.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Very nice receiver for the money, but I think you need to look closer at the specs. The HK AVR-247 does not decode HD audio (Dolby True HD, DTS HD-Master, etc). It will process regular Dolby Digital and DTS as well as PCM multichannel.

I hope your BDP can decode internally and send as PCM.

    Correction,

    it's an AVR-254

That one does decode, doesn't it?

Yep, that one does it. Did you grab it from Cowboom or one of those other Ebay liquidators that have been dumping them? I've been watching them.

No I got it from the Best Buy private auction site.

They dump weird stuff all the time. I got a monster powerbar for like $10 once, and a Toshiba HD-A35 for $40 back in 2007.

Nice score on that AVR. Great price.

My buddy was looking for the cheapest damn <$200 7.1 receiver he could find. I got him to stretch for one of the refurbs from the HK store ....close to $250.

They are going for $175-$250 on Ebay (from the various Dealtree sellers). That BestBuy auction site doesn't seem to work when you try to look at completed auctions, so its hard to say what price they are going for over there.

    Can't find the remote :(.

What's cool is everything can be controlled from the unit itself, so that seems good. It sounds great! I think I'm going to put a bid in for a 354, or 3 or 4 :)

    Dad wants one lol.
