Adcom GFA-7400 Price questions

Just looking at a local classifieds and someone just listed the GFA-7400 5 channel amp. What would be a good price to offer for it? The upgrade bug is starting to bite a little.

My setup is listed in my signature. Would I see a decent improvement over my Onkyo receiver? Would I see more improvement in going with a 2 channel amp and running the remaining 3 speakers off of my receiver?

I have never purchased an amp before, since it was actually listed locally, figured I may take a look at it.

Thanks

You will notice a difference but how much is the question. Your speakers are very easy to push. Give it a try and if you don't like the results you could always sell it.

I thought about that also, but I dont' really know the going rate for this amp. I saw one listed on eBay for $599 buy it now (which I know is way to high).

Didn't know if I would be lowballing him with a $300 offer, or even if that is to high for this amp.

$300 isn't too high. Last one that was for sale here was $500, but i don't know if it sold or not, and that was in great shape.

Check it out, if it's in good shape, start with $300 and see what happens.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

$400 is a good price if it's in good shape. Also if you're wanting to get your feet wet without breaking the bank look at the Adcom 545II 2 channel amp. It can be had for about $150-$200

I haven't looked at it yet. He says that it's in perfect conditon. He is asking $375 for it. Didn't sound super firm on his price, but at least it's a starting point.
