The dealer here in sweden has just lowered the price for Lsi 9 to about $570.

Seems like a good deal? I can't listen to them before I buy since they don't have them in any physical store for demo.

I'm still hoping to get some Fxi A6's ... been waiting 3 months now ...

But maybe I could still my hunger for a bit with these Lsi 9's ... :)

If you have the gear to run them, pull the trigger. Thats a great deal. You plan to use them as rears?

    Thanks for your input.

Indeed the deal makes me triggerhappy ... I'm wondering if they are trying to get rid of the last ones they have left in stock.

I was thinking maybe having them as fronts in my HT, in such case I'll use it with my Yamaha 3800. Otherwise I could use them as fronts in my livingroom (mostly music+tv).

I'm still hoping to get some Fxi A6's for rears.

They are great speakers for just about any application. Your Yamaha has plenty of power to drive them, but I would be careful with the volume knob. The LSi's are 4 ohm speakers and your AVR isn't listed as 4 ohm stable. Lots of people run LSi's off high powered AVRs and don't have a problem, but I would still be careful or in the market for a good 2ch external amp thats 4 ohm stable. These are all minor details, buy those **** and enjoy.

Just wondering, what are you going to pair the FXi's with, and what kind of gear do you have in your music setup?

Ok here's the longer version if you care to read it ... :)

I've been trying to get a complete Rti 7.1 system for my dedicated HT-room. The Rti 9/7 are available in stock here in sweden.

So I've ordered the CSi A6 and FXi A6's and then I figured I'd buy Rti 9's locally (or 7's, haven't made up my mind there yet). This all started by the end of october. My dealer have no clue when Polk can have them (CSi+FXi) in stock and ship it over here ...

I got hooked on Polk last summer when I bought a pair of Rti A3's and a DSWPRO 500, and I currently use them in my HT right now. I bought the A3's to try out Polk as a brand (it's a bit anonymous here in sweden but I know it's big over there...).

So that's my background story ....

So when I saw this deal with the Lsi 9's I figured I could have them in my HT in the meantime and then get a new amp when I move them to my livingroom.

So right now I got no dedicated amp for music/tv.

I'm aware of the 4 ohm issue with the yammy but I almost never play it that loud, so I should be safe there.

    Thanks.

It sounds like you're building a really respectable rig. If you plan to make a dedicated music system in the future, there aren't many better monitors than the LSi bookshelves in their price range. Some prefer the 7's, but thats splitting hairs. The LSi9's will pull double duty as HT speakers really well untill you can get your hands on the RTiA9's. The RTi's are really better suited for HT and the LSi's for music, so you'll have the best of both worlds when it comes to Polk's current offerings. Good luck,

According to Yamaha, you should be ok running a pair of 4 ohm speakers as your mains: "If you are to use 6-ohm speakers, set "SPEAKER IMP." to "6QMIN" as follows BEFORE using this unit. You can also use 4-ohm speakers as the front speakers."
Not sure if this translates to "4 ohm stable", but at least they acknowledge that you can do what you're planning here. However, you wouldn't be able to run an all-LSi surround system with the 3800, as it can only drive center and surrounds rated at 6 ohms or higher. As suggested, use these for 2-channel music listening and the RTi's for HT and you'll be golden!

I've had them for a week now and I just love them. It's also "sold out" now so I'm really glad I got them. Thanks all!

Right now I'm thinking maybe I should go for the LSi C (4ohms tho I know...) instead of trying to get that complete RTi set for HT ... The CSi A6+FXi A6 seems to take forever get. The LSi C is in stock, for the same price as I got the LSi 9's ... hmm.

You should get the Lsi Center to sonically match your mains. You will be glad you did. The only thing I would do if you go that route is eventually get a good external amp to drive them. You will hear a huge improvement and feel comfortable playing them at a higher volume. Love my Lsi HT setup.
