Does anyone have any experience with this amp? I've done a few searches and can't find a whole lot of info on it.... Am I right in thinking it might be a good match for the LSi15? Reason I'm asking, one is available locally, but I'm not sure about the price.

Thanks for resonding... What would you feel is an equivalent amp to this one?
Well, if I could get the price down some.... I noticed a couple of these on Audiogon under 1K and the person is asking more than that. One thing nice about local though, you don't pay shipping and you can deal face to face. I'm also kind of in a mind to sit back awhile and continue to save. My lowly Newcastle seems to be doing a fine job for now.Pioneer vsx-9130txh-k

I would say that most people would indicate at least 200 wpc for the LSi series speakers. Have you offered him an amount yet? Good luck.Michael

Absolutely...wouldn't hesitate on picking up anything from them if it could be had for a good price. Check out the wired for sound products too, people seem to like them, though I have no experience on how well they mate with LSI's.HT SYSTEM-

I haven't yet.... I'm mulling it though. One thing nice is that I asked to audition it first so I can do a comparison. I don't think its going anywhere anytime soon, but you never know.....Pioneer vsx-9130txh-k

Wired for sound? Haven't heard of them before, but I'm off to do a search on them. What is getting me by right now is bi-amping the 15's from the Newcastle using the back surround channels that the receiver can handle itself. I guess they'd be sounding a little thin if I hadn't done that. Running a single channel to the center seems to work fine with its rated 160w in 4 ohms. As long as I can do that, I have some breathing room... In the mean time, I will make an offer for the Proceed.Pioneer vsx-9130txh-k

I've negotiated and I'm picking up the Proceed tomorrow after work.... I'm really looking forward to hearing how this amp matches with the LSi15's. It will be powering the fronts and center while my Newcastle will be taking care of the surrounds. My surrounds are starting to look kind of anemic compared to the fronts, but that isn't my concern right now. One minor issue with the amp is a 12v trigger compatability issue (why he's selling it) which I'm sure will also occur with my Pioneer AV, but I'm not that concerned. There is a work around that I've read about, but really, I can just leave it on or get off my butt and go turn it on and off.Pioneer vsx-9130txh-k

One thing that has me nervous about this amp is age. I certainly don't expect used equipment to last forever, but I've been reading of some very hefty repair quotes in other forums on these amps after age related failure due to "unavailable schematics" and parts availability. People seemed clueless as to where to go for repairs. Do you have any recomendations on a good tech for service if the need were ever to arise? Being that I doubt I will ever by new equipment, I would like to know my resources if problems occur.Pioneer vsx-9130txh-k
