I have the Parasound 2250 (believe identical but 250w @ 8 ohm.) Love the thing, especially option to have both A & B speakers. sounds great to me (but haven't owned other amps as comparison). Seems well built, brain-dead setup. There are Real folks to query (based in San Fran) should you have any questions.
You may want to check around to see what the going rate is for that model. Be sure to check with Audio Advisor.
    LR Setup:
    Polk RTi10's, RTi6's, CSiA6 (5 ch setup)
    Onkyo 705 & Denon 3808ci Receiver, Onk 875
    Parasound 2250 Amp
Sony 26" KDL series Bravia LCD
    Panny DMR-EH75 Recorder
Panny DVD-F87 (5 disk DVD player)
    NAD T585 (DVD/SACD)
    Yamaha DVD-C961 (5 disk SACD/DVD)
    SciAnt Explorer 8500HD Cable Box
    Orig & 5Gen iPods, , Wii

    Plans/Fantasies:
    • 400 disk player that handles ALL formats, sounds as good as NAD with Panasonic interface & compatability.

I don't have a comparision amp, but as my first amp I have been very pleased. Easy use, didn't change my sound, openned up my speakers, was what I was looking for. Has been good for both home theatre and 2 -channel. The biggest changes were improve clarity and better bass from my 9's. I let the onk drive my center for theater use and I usually go pure direct mode for music. A quaility product to get my toes wet. At some point I plan to move into the halo series or look at tubes.
    Mains - LSi9's
    Center - LSiC
    Surround - pair of TL3's
    Amplification - Parasound 2125
    AVR - Onkyo 706
    CD/SACD - Onkyo DV-SP506
    SUB - MartinLogan Abyss
    55" Panasonic Viera TC-P55GT30 3D
    Bluray - DMP-BDT310 Panasonic

got this today.. i think it got it for a steal! 275.00 only able to listen to it for short time today but definitely more detailed and open than my AVR can't wait to pick up a dedicated pre and some better speakers for 2 ch only.. when I put my budget together for speakers i'll ask for some recs.

Excellent SS amplifier with serious bottom end control.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
