I gotta have a look for that ps1. I owned one and i think it'd buried somewhere in the basement. IMO all recorded music is doctored. Unless your sitting in front of a live band,it goes from from mics to cables to mixer to analog to digital to analog to digital to storage medium to player to cables to dac to pre-amp to amp to cables to speakers to room acoustics. It's ALL doctored. I gave up on the straight wire with gain idea years ago.:(
True, but to say just because its doctor to a certain level dose not give you free rain to doctor even more.
Keep the doctoring to as low of a level as you can is my view, of course you can't remove it, hell even the basic laws of physics prevent you from EVER reproducing exactly the same sound that was recorded or even for that matter the the EXACT same sound from each play of the CD every single play is in fact different to a small degree unless of course it happens by chance.
any ways point is if alteration of said sound or the signal path can be avoided and your goal is reproduction of the recorded signal then the alteration should be avoided if it can be.
Just because sound is altered dose not mean that should be altered even more if it can be avoided. (if you follow the same school of thought that I do)Monitor 60s, CS10 front
