    Rti150: http://www.polkaudio.com/home/products.php?category=3&speaker=315

    Rti12: http://www.polkaudio.com/home/products.php?category=21&speaker=347

The Rti12 is new, looks cool and IMHO sounds good for HT, but falls a bit short for 2 channel. I've not heard the Rti150, so no opinion there.

but falls a bit short for 2 channel.

Can you elaborate on this statement. I'm thinking of possibly replacing my M10's Series 2 (after a listen) with the RTi12's. Not sure how HT and 2 channel differ with this speaker.

    Thanks,

LOL.....yeah maybe that does sum it up.

Elaborate, huh? Ok, they sounded muddy (lack of detail) to me on music that has a lot going on, but they did sound very good on a Josh Groban (vocals) cd that Sean bought along. I also noticed a fair amount of sibilance, but that could be just my ears as they seem to be very sensitive to it. I think they sounded better when used for HT because they aren't being asked to do a lot. I also think Polk designed these speakers more for HT and for folks who aren't critical two channel music lovers. All in all, you get what you pay for. The LSi15's are a much better speaker for not a lot more money, IMHO.

Ah ha, I knew it......from the Polk website.

"Timbre-matched to fit into any Polk Audio home theater or multi-channel music system for a more realistic, more seamless surround sound environment."

"Josh Groban sounded cluttered, muffled, and held back on the Rti12's." Since that was the first time I heard him, I thought it sounded pretty good on the Rt12's, so I will defer to Sean's ears on this one.

I did an A/B test on them at frys last weekend. here is a brief summary of my audition:

Lows: RTi150 won hands down. 12s doesnt dig that deep as 15os do.

Mids: Here RTi12 had a definete edge over 150. They sounded more clean and were able to handle complex music patches better than 150s.

Highs: There is no clear winner IMO. They just sounded different. 12s have very forward sound, whereas 150s are very laid back.

Looks/Build Quality: 12s won hands down. They just look awesome.

The RTi12 sounded real good to me. I felt it was clear, and defined....we just did not have enough time to demo.

Is it SDA quality? Uh No, and it isn't trying to be, nor will be.

SDA vs RTi is like me saying I have a bigger dick than F1Nut.

Who can say? Why would you want to know? Who the **** cares?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
