What's the best ( subjective opinion is okay) DAC you guys use? Do not want to pay 1k for toying with Ipod , so budget DAC please.

Depends on the “sound” you are looking for. If you are trying to get as close to “analog” as possible use strictly lossless content and pair your Wadia up with any NOS (non oversampling) DAC that you can find. You can find both older and newer DAC’s that offer NOS. Good luck. Also, digital cables can make a difference as well, more than you might think.

With that attitude you are never going to get anywhere.
When I first bought my Wadia I used it with a Benchmark DAC1 Pre. I later upgraded the DAC1 to a Bryston BDA-1. Coupled with an iPod Classic holding Apple Lossless songs, and the Wadia iTransport I am in audio nirvana in regard to a source.
I only have Classical songs on the iPod, and by putting it on random shuffle I get new concerts with every sitting. Without a doubt the iPod/Wadia has been the best equipment purchase I have ever made. I just finished assembling a new CD rack to hold all the CDs I have been buying to load onto the iPod.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes
Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables
Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
Three 20 amp circuits.
