OK I started a thread in the 2 chennel section concerning this amp.
http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91523
I'm going to throw this out there and see if anyone wants come over to the tube side with a nicely modded CJ amp. This started as a 'Factory' issued MV75a-1. Rated 75wpc but has a few nice mods to make it run with GE 6550A's, KT88's or KT90's to give an output of around 87 -90wpc. The 6550 tubes are going to keep you in the 75wpc range. You need to run ONLY the GE 6550A's for the higher plate voltages and mods made to the amp. It really likes the EI KT90's or a set of SED winged 'C' KT88's. Comes with the cage, modded bottom cover for better ventilation and a copy of the manual printed from pdf sent from Ed at CJ. Easy LED bias settings. The amp will come with a nice set of clear top 6FQ7 or 6CG7 tubes with dampers and either a GE 5 Star or JAN/Philips 5751 tubes. You supply the power tubes. I'm down low on power tubes and need these for amps I'm using now. Pictures tomorrow or next day. Thanksgiving and all that.
I'm pretty sure you wont be disappointed. This is a very smooth and neutral amp. I have another MV75a-1 I want to try a different mod to. Shipping would be extra yet packed well. I'd like to have a local pick-up or I'd drive a reasonable amount (150 miles) to deliver. Local guys in the Atlanta area are welcome to demo. I'll even go as far as to offer a 30 day return with shipping packed in the same as you recieved the amp should you not like the amp. So I'm kind of hoping for some serious buyers with a nice count on thier posts (no newbs) that won't just be in this for a test drive.

The op can confirm, but here are what I believe this amp looks like...

98% correct. Different power switch on the front. No picture of the botom but mine is modded for better ventilation. Basically the same amp as far as looks go from that angle. BTW thanks for the picsTesting

nice amp--can you tell me who performed the mods? Thanks and good luck with the sale.I'll bet this would sound nice with some of the recently upgraded 1C's around here.;)JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

All fresh tubes installed after a full looking over and mod from Bill Thalmann to run KT88's, KT90's or GE 6550'A' tubes.
I hope this helps you, Georgeengtaz

Yeah thanks for the info. I'm busy with an insane bunch of turkey eaters here as I nurse a hangover from hell. I hate the holidays and when they bring booze to my house. I feel obligated to have a sample, shot, drink or whatever.Testing

I don't seem to be getting any interest in this fine amp. For the sake of a second unbiased opinion I'd like to have Mr. George Daniels have a demo of the amp for a few weeks and give his opinion since he's rather local. George?Testing

I am totally interested. I am also lacking funds totally.
What kind of speakers have you matched this amp with?-Kevin
HT: Philips 52PFL7432D 52" LCD 1080p / Onkyo TX-SR 606 / Oppo BDP-83 SE / Comcast cable. (all HDMI)B&W 801 - Front, Polk CS350 LS - Center, Polk LS90 - Rear

Oppo BDP-83 SE
Squeezebox Touch
Muscial Fidelity M1 DAC
VTL 2.5

86bd Efficient Dynaudio Audience 72's. I wish I had something a little more efficient to use right now. I started focusing on some horns so I could try a little SET action. 300B or 2A3 little buggers with something in the neighborhood of 5wpc - 10wpc. But the Dyns sound pretty sweet for me at this time. I have a set of Altec VOTT that are about finished. But damn that would be overkill for this amp.

Thanks for the kind words Troy but I am going to have to help you out here and exclude you from the sale.
You are wanting to downsize and go with an intergrated so you are excluded from the sale. I like helping when I can. Testing

I Love you Troy!

Tell these guys what this amp is all about.
BTW...I will NOT let it go for a loss. I love tha amp but out of work since having to close my business. But I damn sure won't take a bad hit on this fine amp. I wish...need to let George Daniels have it for a demo for a few weeks since he is a mainstay here and could vouch for the performance of this unit.
George? I'm local now that I have my house down on the coast for rent. Kennesaw here.Testing
