One Call, an authorized HK dealer, has run the 525 on several occasions for just a little over $500 shipped. Again, for a NEW receiver at that price, you won't do any better. Since HK has a new line coming out soon, we can probably expect to see some good closeout prices on their older line, the X25 series.

And yes Sid, I am aware of the used market, and that is opening up a whole new can of worms entirely.

    Team,
These are not under $500, but consider these:
    1. Yamaha RX-V3300 (2002/2003 model) at ecost.com for $750 (do not know about S&H).
    2. I personally picked up a Pioneer Elite VSX-47TX from Sound Advice on Blanding, Jacksonville previous to last Sunday for $1400 total ($1309 plus taxes). This is my first Pioneer product and so far I am totally impressed. Their advertised selling price now is $1500, but they knocked off an additional $110 before taxes for me. This was a unit manufactured in 05/2003 and in a sealed box.
    3. I believe they are selling the Yamaha RX-Z1 (2002/2003 model)for a $1000 plus taxes this week. Note that the Elite purchase was also my first from Sound Advice.
Like I said all these are over $500, but exceptional deals.
    Regards,

    Team,
The discount I reced. was $190 before taxes, not $110 as I posted above. Regards, aba4430
