Can't seem to find the info on their site. Thanks!

While I'm at it, would this be recommended over the PS3 for playing movies and music? I'm not really a gamer.

    Nope...it doesn't.

I'd be willing to bet that it would be better than a PS3.

comfortablycurt, thanks for the quick reply! I'm looking to pull the trigger on the combo deal over at Sony Style (KDL-46V5100 + BDP-S560 or PS3 Slim 120GB for $999.99) I don't think the rest of my setup will really see the benefit of SA-CD anyway. The main thing is picking which unit will play movies and cd's better.

As far as I know, none of Sony's Bluray players will support SACD, up to and including their ES 400 disc changer which retails for $1900! Think they really dropped the ball here.

...and if it had any video output at all that would help it become a blue ra player that plays SACD.

Should have been more clear, the $1900 BR player can't play SACD, yet the $150 CD player can...

I guess it's hard to express sarcasm over a message board.

Sorry to ask stupid questions, but is there a Blu Ray Audio equivalent (or at least competitor) to SA-CD? I dont' know why I'm hung up on the SA-CD thing as I've read you have to have a special 6 speaker arrangement to take advantage of it. Basically, I just like really good sounding audio but also wholey realize that my current setup will most likely not be able to reproduce the best.

You don't need 6 speakers to listen to SACD. I do all of my SACD listening in 2 channel. As long as your player can downmix to 2 channel, you're golden.
