Today was a special day. My buds picked me up and took me out. We hit a couple audio stores, and an antique store. While at my house they got an ear on my new tube gear. They were impressed with it, but it seemed like it was favoring the left channel. One of the two right channel tweets was out. Luckily I had a spare replacement dome. I just wish I had fixed it while they were still here. I scored 14 albums at a dollar each. George scored a few records, and Jerry got a new cartridge, and a new record. We aslo met up with Russ(hoosier). Jerry got a set of speakers from him. It was a great day. I would just like to say thanks again to these guys.

Sounds like you guys had a memoral day hangin. Those days are to far and between it seems for most people these days. Glad you could do it.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Russ is a cheerful sort of guy. Full of smiles. We were talking about getting together and doing the rounds on a monthly basis. Good friends and tunes are some of the better things in life. I know I have said it before, but I wish all my Polk family was close.

We had planned to visit 3 places but only got 2 in.We went to Audio Alternative, Thiel,Vandy's,Audio Research,VPI,Dynavector,Maggies,IIRC the entire lineups of the speakers were well represented,,oh yeah Mac too.Lots of gear for sale that was taken in on trade as well, about 5 or 6 rooms full of gear plus the main showroom,,all in all,at least 10 rigs,,serious vinyl as well. The owner is pumped,so that made it fun,no pressure,he knew that we were not buying, but he treated us like he did his paying customers, just a great experience,I'll be back for sure. The most impressive rig(for me) were the Vandy 3A's,,WOW,huge soundstage, spot on imaging,,and bass to let you feel the music. The big Maggies were nice,,the higher end Vandys as well,,but those 3's were just so easy to listen to.Next stop was Audio Atlanta,,where Jerry got a cartridge on his way to the rabbit hole.Pete is the turntable "guru" in the Atlanta circles, and has Tannoy,Rogue,PS Audio, and a plethora of tweaks,,not to mention his tt setup area,,did ya'll SEE that microscope?
All of a sudden, who should appear before us with a big smile ?? Russ (hoosier21),as our eyes got bigger as we glanced at his sleigh,,Jerry spied some Vandersteens',,had his name on em' so we had to make room ,,we then went around the corner to the antiques store,,multiple bins of dollar a pop records, once inside we found the usual suspects, but upon looking closer, vintage gear abounds,Phase Linear,Citation,Oracle,Electrovoice, oscilloscopes,,RTR's,,and another "record shop" inside, with pre owned and new releases,,,and alot of Mo-Fi pressings, almost sending the brain into overload.A place that you could spend at least 3 hours in
As we left, with the sun setting,,I heard a faint,"happy listening to all, and to all a good night",,as I looked,I saw hoosiers big smile as he drove out of sight, for he had many more stops before he calls it a night.

A true story--the force is strong
