Wireless Headphones

So Dad just bought a new 42" plasma for the den and has to use headphones to watch it quite frequently. He has a pair (or three) of the Bose QuietComfort headphones, so he's been using those with a long cord, plugged into the analog audio out using an adapter. However, he doesn't want to have to keep stringing his cord ~18' across the den, and I think Mom's interested in some wireless headphones, too.
I did a quick search on the forum and basically found that they're all crap. Which is rather disappointing. Neither Mom nor Dad are looking for great audio quality, but decent range and reception is important. Are there any wireless headphones out there today that won't totally break the bank and actually function fairly well? I'm also assuming here that the wireless headphones will have a volume control on them. With Dad's current setup he doesn't have any volume control.
Any input would be very much appreciated! Thanks!!

Thanks for the link!
Is that all the recommendations y'all can come up with? Like I said in my original post, I get the feeling there's no love for wireless headphones (perhaps justifiably so), but I did expect a bit more input than that.
Maybe I should convince them to just put up with the cord.
