Anybody got experience with this mid-level offering from VTL?

Thanks,

I know some prefer the 2.5 over the 5.5.

Joe tried both, liked the 2.5 better.

well, then there you go.....I read where the 7.5 was getting into the uber hi-fi class.

I have no experience with anything other than the 2.5. I hope to have something from ARC within a few months as the guy that sold me this 2.5 is looking for an ARC preamp. We will likely swap around for comparison.
The 2.5 is so much sweeter than anything I have had previously that any opinion I have of it is practically useless. I am still too blown away to make a value judgment. It is a new level for me. I am currently saving my pennies for an amp that will keep up.

I've heard the 5.5 has considerably better bass.

I got a chance to buy a 5.5 for $2300. Just wondering if I should do it. I think I'm missing my tubey goodness.

That is considerably more than my 2.5.

I would think that there ought be some significant difference. I can say that, in my rig, that bottom end is not lacking.

I had the 2.5, it certainly did not lack bass.

I bought the 5.5. I like that it has balanced outs. I've never had a tube pre with so many tubes on the inside.
