tube options for 5670 tube

With the recent purchase of the Bada tube CDP, I am already curious what other 5670 tubes I should try ?

Can someone give me suggestions on other tubes?

I enjoy having the option of altering the sound to mold it to my liking.

    That's an uncommon tube, you won't find much variety worth spending money on IMO.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    I tried the Bendix 6385 which was cool with lots of space and air but settled on something still resolving but less euphoric - Ericcson 396a Goldpin - I think it's more evenly balanced

    There are definitely a bunch you can get relatively inexpensive. Give them a whirl. I think some will show a greater difference than others.

    Al, do some research on the net as there are always close equvalents that will most likely work. With my Dared pre-amp which takes 12AT7's I've successfully used about 6 different types of tubes.

    Head over to Tubes Asylum and start searching as I'm sure someone else has asked the question and tried some different tubes.

    Doug might be able to confirm this but I believe RCA Command series 5670's are supposed to be very nice. Scarce and a little expensive, but nice.
