Looking to finish out my 6.1 system with the specials at CC, but I had a few questions. What would be a better side surround, the RTi38 or the FXi30? What are the pros/cons of the direct-fire vs the bipole/dipole speaker? Last one...would a center channel, such as a CSi30, make a better center surround or should I look to get a RTi38 or 28. BTW, I have RTi70s and a CSi40 up front. Thanks for any help.

    Welcome to the forum!
This question comes up alot! The benefit to using a Bipole/Dipole speaker for surround duties is that the surround effects are not localized like they would be with a direct firing speaker. Opinions regarding which sounds best for multichannel music vary quite a bit, but for movie sound tracks you'll find that most folks would agree that the Bi/Dipole speakers have the upper hand, due to their better dispersion.

The Csi30 would make an excellant rear channel speaker. Also if you want to use a 38 or 28, you're going to have to buy a pair since that's the only way they are sold.
