that is a preyt sweet setup and a very popular one. my setup is prety similar with 800i,400i and the fx500i for suround.

i have a queston can your sub keep going louder when your mains say stop?

i ust have that problem till i got a 7 channel amp. it was olny 25 wpc better than my recever but it made such a differance.

    Gonzo,

Not sure what you mean. The reason I got the Rti70's was because I was getting a powerful subwoofer. One reason I didn't get the Rti100's. The Rti70's and the SVS are a perfect mix.

I got the Sony 7AES refurbed for $650.00, I couldn't resist buying for that price. I was going to get the Yamaha RX2300 or RX3300.

    Thanks for the compliments.

Nice Hank... Room looks to be more than a little challenging set-up-wise.

Forgive me for getting a little anal, but I'd value the left ch placement over the SVS. A lot more flexibility with it vs. the left ch for imaging.

Is the SVS's current position optimal on your room?
    More later,

just pull the 70's forward a bit, and swap the svs with the left speaker and place the sub in the corner,

I would have swapped the 70 with the SVS but the wife didn't like the way the SVS came out more then the 70. By the way our hallway is right there, along with are washer and dryer. The room is really hard to figure out, acoustically speaking. The right wall is a complete wall with one door. However, the left side, has the hallway, a window into the kitchen, in the back a very large opening leading to the dining room. The reason I got these was that my wife and I will be selling our condo in about a year or so and moving into a house, hopefully with a better room.

Yeah, they are high up, at least 8 feet. Exactly, the room was tough to setup, but it works just fine. Calibrated all speakers to 85db and the surround sound works great. I am sure once I have a larger room to setup everything it will be much better.

Nice setup Hank, have almost the same setup. Just one question, how and the hell is everyone posting pics on the forum. They keep telling me my pics are to large, damum, I can't compress them anymore than I already have.

    Grim,

Open the picture in Microsoft Photo Editor, select save as, then select More, adjust the compression ratio down to 20. Also resizing the picture helps. I went from a 800k file to 10k :)
