The MMC-1 is very nice. Have you seen the remote on this thing? It also serves as a home defense weapon. :D

I've got an ERC-1 right now, and the remote is like working a brick. A very pretty brick. That actually CLICKS. I love the clicks.

I doubt it'll still be around, but i'll be in the market in about 3 weeks for this sucker.

The XPA-5 Was purchased on 6-27-08. I have not used it in a couple of months. It works flawlessly. I took down my HT to use that room for a 2 channel room.

BTW: it can be used as a 1 to 5 channel amp. Here are the specs.
    • 200 watts RMS/channel into 8 ohms, all channels driven

    • 5 channels - 8 ohm= 200 watts per channel

    • 4 channels - 8 ohm = 230 watts per channel

    • 3 channels - 8 ohm = 250 watts per channel

    • 2 channels - 8 ohm = 275 watts per channel

    • 1 channel - 8 ohm = 300 watts per channel

    4 ohm rating:

    • 5 channels - 4 ohm = 350 watts per channel

    • 4 channels - 4 ohm = 375 watts per channel

    • 3 channels - 4 ohm = 400 watts per channel

    • 2 channels - 4 ohm = 450 watts per channel

    • 1 channel - 4 ohms = 500 watts per channel

It would really make those Rti's sing I have a 5790 and cant believe the difference it makes going to an external setup plus you would be able to use your yammy for a pre if ya want. I say go for it make jerry a happy man that his sale didn't last very long. Very good prices too buy the way I would jump on the 5 if I hadn't already bought the sda this week.

    Best regards

External is the way to go. Does the Yamaha have pre outputs? I'm sure it does but I am not familiar with it. I hooked it to my Pioneer Elite pre outs and the difference was night and day.

I owned the Yamaha 5890 and LSi15s. The Yamaha has pre-outs. Trust me, external amplification will do wonders for the Lsi gear and the Yamaha is a pretty decent preamp, but it's amp section is too weak for the Lsis. With external amps, you'd be rolling in sound you've never heard and would be extremely happy until you have more cash available to do all out separates.

Oh ****, that's right! Damn that's funny. I amended what I wrote in your quote. See above. I'm glad that thing is still kicking. I used it as a preamp for a long time. The preouts are excellent and the DSP is great if you play a lot of games and watch movies.

The XPA-2 Jerry is selling would blow your mind. I also owned that amp. The amp section of the Yamaha is not even worth the comparison. You could use the XPA for your mains and the Yamaha for surrounds. That's what I did.
