Man, if people just had a little more "knowledge" about what they're trying to accomplish such devices like these wouldn't be needed. Just something someone came up with to get some more $ in his/her own pocket, good idea imo.
Wonder how much would be affected regarding transfer rate speeds......I mean we're talking audio/video in hi-def over usb?Truck setup

My custom HTPC has an hdmi out, and it's a relatively low end board, plus it' over a year old? I'd probably just use my optic/ DVI out instead of this route.
Hell, I just bought 2 hdmi cables so I can use my brdp. Wouldn't have if I didn't NEED to!
I imagine that the brand HTPC's will have hdmi out, if not now, then in the very near future?I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE! -
Using this at it's max resolution would kill your entire USB bus in terms of saturation.
Your CPU% utilization would be extremely high as well. A low end video card would be a better solution.Main Surround -

According to the video
- an 1/8" headphone jack/cable supplies the audio - so the audio signal is only in stereo?
- the USB only needs to supply Video only, and it is only 720p?
It should work adequately.........
I've run lots of movies off a USB external HD at this resolution with stereo sound and it works fine - never stutters........
