However, this miller multiple purpose stipping tool is the best I ever used!
http://www.elexp.com/tol_2100.htm Make sure you buy the one with the spring options!
Cheers!

you might try one of the big box stores. Home Depot - Lowes
usually carries these and at a slight discount sometimes -
Depends if he is in a rush or not... Buying those from a store might be pretty close to 20$ (that I remeber when ours and mine were bought). If he is not in a rush, might be worthwhile to buy on lin since he will get more for his 20$.you might try one of the big box stores. Home Depot - Lowes

yepper....
I actually like to order online if the price including shipping and insurance is lower.
its a big time savings not having to serach for the item and then wait in line at the register.
remember the days ---- used your teeth to remove insulation from 18 gauge speaker wire..... -
Never did much of that being a technician. I guess if ownership would ever seen us doing that, well you know when time comes to get rid of a tech... I was very fortunate to be in the tech world as I learned that using the right and quality tool makes a big difference! This specicific wire stipper will allow you to strip the insulation only, not the strands!yepper....

Jeff, the owner of sonic craft offered to sell me his Thomas & Betts WT2000s for 20 bucks.I cant find any info on them.Anyone know anything about them. Here is a copy of the email.>>
You might want to research the strippers and techniques on the web. Iam not really a cable termination guru. However, I'd be happy to passalong what I use. I use a Thomas & Betts WT2000, and a Paladin cableslitter 1822. Now you are looking at $75-$100 for the pair, but theyhave served me well. Their are a couple of cheaper designs like the 1822. But, there is nosub for the WT2000. If you do go this route, I have an extra used pairof WT2000s. I used them for their nippers. The strippers have littleuse. They would last you a lifetime. I'd take $20 for my used TW2000. Hope that helps,JeffSDA-2BTL with custom IC

fbm211, this depens if you intend to use the tool fully otherwise if only for stripping you are fine with the miller stripper. You can look on the provided site and possibly acquire some similar to what's offered to you new for possibly the same price range. I have similar tool and it is collecting dust as the miller is the one I used the most, this is all I need for stripping. The other tool comes out only on the rare ocasions. If you look at the design, that tool is ratter clumbsy fpr wire stripping. Multi purpose tool are often not ideal for specific jobs!

Milwaukee Sawzall.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
-
i got so many different wire strippers i do not even know where all of them are.....
maybe you should borrow some, try them out and use them before committing.
ask some professionals. observe their use. inquire and ask the manufacturers.
sawzall - that was FUNNY -
Never had great success with them, I tend to loose fingers each time, the Sawezall doesn't have the hability to recognise dielectric, conductors and/or fingers, cuts them all up like a knife in butter :DMilwaukee Sawzall.DARE TO SOAR:
