These are my atempt at building a simple corner trap.It consists of a plywood frame filled with wedges of ROXUL mineral wool. While they are smaller than the ones sold by the likes of GIK they will still be effective into the upper bass range.

Nice!!, thanks for the ideas. Where do you get ROXUL mineral wool?
Larry. -
I purchased it at a building supply store.I'm not sure if it's sold in your neck of the woods but you could also use Owens Corning OC703.TOOLFORLIFEFAN wrote: »Nice!!, thanks for the ideas. Where do you get ROXUL mineral wool?

Great idea GV! This one not only saves for the corner traps but the costly shipping fees too. How did you cut the mineral wool into triangular shape?Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin:

Thanks!!
Now i have another project to put on my list. -
I used a utility knife with the blade extended to equal the thickness of the mineral wool (1.5")and used a metal straight edge as a cutting guide. How did you cut the mineral wool into triangular shape?Testing

Sound treatments are one of the most over looked upgrades there are. Luckily my area is pretty open, and my ceilings are vaulted.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. My listening room is rearranged now. Before the SDA sounded better, but the base was boomy. I need something behind the couch to kill reflections. Before I had a blanket hung over the windows that were behind the couch(no WAF here), but I don't think it would do as well directly on the wall. I'm not kidding when I say this. I have thought hard about making a listening "hat" that would be kinda V shaped, and treated with rock wool? Anyone who has their seating against the wall and thinks they don't need room treatments to have an accurate sound stage just doesn't know. At Jerry's he has a dining room that is open to the living room. His couch is right smack dab in the middle of the opening. When I was in FLA I had that big room for my monster SDA's(please ~M~ don't sue me:rolleyes:), and they have never sounded the same. It was 24x24 and I was a little offset there, but I had plenty of room behind me and an open style bunk bed.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com.
