Which amp should I use to powere to 12' POLK/MOMO's?

I got 1 MTX Thunder1000d and wondering if I should go with 2?

    Save your money, 1 amp will do the job. Hook 2 subs in parallel
    for a 2 ohm load (if your not sure what that means just connect the red terminals of each speaker together and do the same with the black ones). this will give you 1000 watts into 2ohms @ 12volts and 1500watts @ 14.4which should be more than enough power. Make sure you have a 1farad capacitor so you can pound your bass.

    That amp will definetly power those speakers, but,
    if you run that amp @ 2ohms and work it hard, it mite not last as long if you went with the double amp setup. Then each amp would only see a 4ohm load. They would run cooler and you would probably be safer if you decide to compete.
