First time entering anything on the site, so bear with me. Does anyone know anything about Polk Audio floor speakers RTE 600? I am looking for some speakers and found these for $150 a piece-look to be in good to great condition-slightly used. Thanks-

Thanks, but help me out here. I am relatively new to the audiophile world, and am looking for some decent speakers to go with a Harmon Kardon 3480 receiver. I have some Bose bookshelf speakers (model 161) and some old floor model Sherwoods I have had forever. A friend of mine told me to look for Klipsch, Polk or Boston acoustics. I am notl ooking to spend more than $500/pair.

They're not worth $150/each....and pushing it that price for a pair.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

the RTE600 speakers up for sale on EBay are about two hours South of me. I'm not interested in them though.

If your looking at $500 a piece ,look at these on ebay great price.

Sorry you said $500 for a pair the RT55I if you can find a set. they go for around $250 a pair. Great speaker IMHO for the price or look on polk's ebay store they have some great deals for the price range your looking at, and you will get a set of great speakers.

Thanks for your responses. I will continue to keep looking on Craigslist in my area (SE Wisconsin) and on eBay. I took a look at the RTiA9 and those look like way more than I am used to speakers wise, it has been that long. Don't laugh, but what happened to the grills?

JGL you could also look into some older vintage polk stuff like the SDA line or Monitor 10's or 11''s or 12's. Polks vintage speakers can be found on ebay, craigslist, or here. Be selective and make sure they are in nice shape, the nicer the cabinets the better care was usually taken. Ive got a nice small collection that ive built up using ebay and craigslist. **** Luck
Most of them only hear how loud it sounds, and the rest of us hear everything else -

If you are totally into Polk I'll be tossing a pair of RTA 12Bs on Craigslist in Madison soon enough. I'll put them on Milwaukee Craigslist too if you want. It is hardly worth my time to mess with selling them for the small amount they are worth, but I recognize there are people with a passion for the RTA 12 sound so I'll take 5 minutes and see if anyone responds before I haul these monsters down to St Vinnies and let some clueless guy pick up my $1,000 (original price paid in '87) for a song.
