Well I wanted more bass so I asked around here and was told more power and that would help my rtia9's.It sounds the same as it did with my rb-1080. I guess I need a subwoofer. I dont care what anybody says but my old cerwin vegas(vs-12) would rock the house with my old onkyo receiver. Im at a loss.Oh and alot of money. My pre amp,,rc-1070:(:(:(:(:(

If you want Disco sounding speakers I guess the CV are the way to go!! If you want a more true musical sounding speaker the Rotel/RTi9's combo is the way to go.

If you really like the sound characteristics of your CV's, then you may be going down the wrong path. You will need sub-woofers to get close. Why not just get a pair of CV's for when you want to party, use the a9's when you want more accurate music reproduction?

If you want loud party speakers then you probably need to look at commercial DJ/Sound type speakers. The other option might be some of the Klipsch line of speakers.

Are you speakers wired in phase with one another?

Maybe you should try some SDA's? I run an RB-980BX, a little more than half the power of your 1080, and my SDA 2A's produce way more punch and thumpage than I can use in this apartment:D If you keep your eyes open, you should be able to get a pair without too much of an investment. If they' don't do it for you, you should be able to move them on without much cost.
