Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Is Hollywood that out of ideas, that they have to turn Gilligans Island into a movie? Seriously...I'm getting tired of all of these remakes.

I remember reading a while back, that there were talks about remaking Total Recall.

too funny, since George Clooney is out how about David Schwimmer? He has got to be desperate for work.

Loved the TV show so this will be a must see, that is, unless they cast Will Ferrel in it. That guy can ruin any movie.

I like Squeeb's version too! But I am also tired of all these remakes...my best friend is an Indie Filmmaker with over a dozen scripts ready to go (that most of you would like to 'see' brought to the big screen) and almost no money to follow through on them (Direct, produce, etc.).

But with HD tech getting cheaper and cheaper...and the internet becoming a more viable distribution node...who knows. Maybe Hollywood's days are 'numbered'!

There are a LOT of talented people out there with tons of NEW ideas..good ones!

Captain = The Skipper. I don't ever remember the Skipper refered to as captain. I always was freaked out by Alan Hale Jr. as he looked exactly like his father who played Errol Fynn's side kick in many, many movies.

    Some things cannot be touched.

As in the theme of Gilligan's Island, I have the entire first season of Green Acres. Priceless!

You try to remake certain genera, the folk remaking it foul it up. What's next? Mayberry? I'd like to see some kid trying to pass himself off as Ron Howard.

If some of these creeps want to take on bigger "fish" for a remake, then try "Gone with the Wind" from the '30s. I will not be watching.

Any of these are a DVD destined for the supermarket bargain bin.

Qualls would be a great Gilligan...but I was saving him to play Barney Fife in the Andy Griffith Show remake. Andy played by Billy Bob Thornton.

Green Acres is priceless. It is one of my all time favorites like the Honeymooners that could not possibly be made and do justice to the original. I don't think there is an actor out there that could pull off the exasperation shown by Eddie Albert in the series or the plain old hijinx of Jackie Gleeson & Art Carney in either show.

Both shows get true belly laughs from me no matter how many times I watch them.
