Bi-amping Monitor 70's

The sale on the black 70's for $179 was just two weeks ago, so it's not likely to happen again any time soon. Even at $230 with free shipping it's still a great deal.
They seem to be staggering the sales on the different speakers pretty well so that you can't buy them all cheap at the same time, and it's working. I was going to wait until they had another sale on the black 30's, 50's and CS2, but decided not to risk having them run out and have to spend more on something else that's comparable. Plus, I want them now. :P
Yes indeed, the new law of suspicious supply and demand!
I saw the $179 deal flashed on Slickdeals, but actual attempt at the purchase (NewEgg) showed $229 with 30 feet of unwanted wire. I picked up a CS2 awhile back for $100. Love the 70's - they will work well in my space! Love the Polks! -
I bi-amped a pair of these with an Onkyo TX-SR606 - sounds MUCH better!HT

Oggums,
I have a similar HT setup. M70's as fronts, CS2, psw505, and M40s for surround...wanted to go 7.1 but the place isnt big enough to fit all 7 nicely. I am running it with the vsx 1019ah-k and for HT use it sounds great for my room. I actually have the sub only tunred on around 1/4 of the volume cause I dont think the neighbors like it too much when it is turned up and still sounds great. I dont do a lot of music listening so cant really comment on that, but think you will be pleased with your new buys. Instead of "Bi-amping", unscrew the red and black from all 4 posts on the back of the 70s, take the gold plate off, and replace it with the same wire you hav everything else running with (aka small bit red to red and black to black). Thats how I wired mine and sounds like a lot of others run theirs that way to save on 2 sets of wires for each speaker. Like many have said though its the listeners opinion to what sounds best. I would suggest thick speaker wire and banana plugs for sure. I ran 12 gauge wire and the open screw banana plugs from monoprice.com and have been very pleased with it. Any questions on anything message me and let me know...the amp can be kinda tricky and the directions don't help that much!"C-A-T-S CATS CATS CATS"
