These are flicks that are primarily about guns, not so much pyrotechnics.
Here's my short list:

The Professional
Boondock Saint's*
Hitman

*I haven't seen 'All Saint's day' yet, so that may get added to the list.

Any others???

I liked Tom Sellick in "Quiggley Down Under" - a bit campy at times, but some scenes are nicely set up for some cool shots.

I also like Clint Eastwood in "Joe Kidd" - love the scene set up for the LOOONG rifle shot at the bad buy.

Well, the game was pretty awful, too, in a hilariously sick sort of way.

    Collateral.

    collateral.jpg

I am not a big fan of Tom Cruise, but as a guy who follows and participates in competitive and recreational shooting, there was great shooting and gun handling skills displayed in that movie.

Shooter was great, too. The book that Shooter was based on was written by Stephen Hunter, a huge gun enthusiast who goes to painstaking lengths to be accurate about firearms in his books. He said in a recent article that the people who turned his book into a movie got some things wrong, but that they too went through great lengths to be accurate about firearms and the shooting scenes.

"True Romance!" Classic Tarantino stuff. Great dialog, great shoot 'em up.

    Plus it doesn't get better than this;

    Christian Slater

    Patricia Arquette

    Dennis Hopper

    Val Kilmer

    Gary Oldman

    Brad Pitt

    Christopher Walken

    Bronson Pinchot

    Samuel L. Jackson

    Michael Rapaport

    Saul Rubinek

    James Gandolfini

    Chris Penn

    Tom Sizemore

    Ed Lauter

    . . .and more!

Favorite Scene, when Dennis Hopper's character is being tortured by Chistopher Walken's character and his goons and Hopper's character goes into his "Sicilan" ancestry diatribe. Being half Sicilian, I've heard that many times by "pure" Italians.

Next favorite scene ANYTHING Gary Oldman was in.

The ending was definitely classic Tarantino extended, all faction shoot out!
