Has anyone compared the A-A Blue Racer II's vs> AQ Sidewinders?
http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=AQBRII

they are only a couple of $$ more per pair.

I have a couple of pairs of Sidewinders and think they definitely were an upgrade from the std IC's or MC....

Just wondering, I need some more cables....thanks

I'd probably go with the Blue Racers...

I run Scarlet Vipers, which are one of the precursors to the Blue Racers (though i don't think they have silver terminations), and they were a pretty large step up from Sidewinders. They do everything Sidewinders do, but more of it. Sidewinders on steroids.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

Ben1: (concealer404) what specific differences did you note?

Ben2: Are you selling cables again? If so, please link me or PM me with some of the different cable options you build and pricing. Any comparisons to the AQ sidewinders you can point me to?

    I've got a better idea:

    ;)

Now again, i would expect the Blue Racers to sound SIMILAR, but definitely not identical.

Ah... i thought you were asking what i thought about the Scarlets, my bad.

I haven't heard the Racers in person. Though at that price, and it being tax season, it may be worth my time to check them out. I'd need like... 4 pairs though. Arg.

I could be wrong, but I think that the audio advisor "blue racer" is their in-house equivalent to audioquests Copperhead, so it would be a step up from the Sidewinder.

Kinda like their "black mamba IIs" are the audio advisor in-house equivalent to the audioquest Diamondbacks.

I think where they differ is the connectors used.

I am not sure if they would correlate to the Copperheads or higher up, using the logic that the Racer and the Scarletts are virtually the same, and People have not reported no noticeable difference between the Sidewinders and the Coperheads, but there is a noticable difference between the Sidewinders and the Scarletts.
Audio Advisor does say that they are still using the same AQ fittings as the Black Momba's, with a slightly different, but still AQ, cabling.

I don't have the link, but I did see the direct comparison of the Black Mamba's to the Diamondbacks.

Also, the Blue Racers use the PSC conductor construction - the first cable you see that in the regular Audioquest line is the Copperheads, not the Sidewinders (that uses the LGC).

I'm talking specificallly about design/construction of the cables...whether you can hear a difference in a single step up from one cable to the next in the same line...maybe not...but the cable constructions are not the same between the Blue Racer and the Sidewinders.

Based on "specs" alone, the Blue Racers seem to be the better value, since, by design...they seem to be similar to the Copperheads which are one step up from the Sidewinders.

    Just stirring the pot....
