Salk HT3's in a HT?

Do you think this is overkill for a HT environment? Would it be considered a waste? Never heard the Salk sound but I read a few good reviews and the price seems very fair. Any thoughts on using the HT3s with matching center? I would of course keep the Polks on surround duty and just replace my front end. Thoughts?

Oh hell yes, they make a damn good speaker. Beautifull to boot. Overkill is subjective, for an apartment dwelling, yeah maybe, otherwise I'd say go for it. Had an ear on those once and liked them very much. Jim Salk is one hellava nice guy too. Go for it.
They do need some room to breath though so don't try cramming them up against a wall,or smashed into a corner.

Thats my only concern is that they would be in a corner, pulled out just a tad but with some room. The only thing is that my screen is so large.

Call Jim..talk to him personally, he's best at advising you and won't feed you B.S. just to sell some speakers. He has a good following over at audio circles if you care to visit as they have alot of owners who may give you more perspective. Even Jim himself posts over there.
