Just wondering if people like listening to music that has gone threw a internal or external EQ or going direct. I like both depending on the music and how loud it is. :p

I play all my music in direct analog, let the player do the converting. Not a big fan of all that processing, keep the signal as pure as possible.

I like Audyssey for HT but I use Direct mode for music. Having said that, I rarely listen to music through my AVR. Music DVD's and concert DVD's etc. I use Direct mode.

I've been thinking of hooking up a nice used 15 band per channel stereo graphic equalizer between the preamp and power amp and use it only for 2 channel playback. Used to use one in the tape monitor loop back in the pre AVR days.

I use the eq to tailor the sound to the way I like it. There's no such thing as "pure direct" unless the artist is playing his guitar "live" in front of you in your living room. The "sound" engineers already altered the signal before it even got onto the cd. IMHO of course.
