New Lsi7's!!

Hey guys. So, I know that whole Christmas karma thing with DoctorCilantro got a little crazy. Well, I woke up this morning with a PM in my box and read it, and he offered to give me the speakers and sub, if I could drive to Tampa. I left almost immediately! I got there, and he had the Lsi7's and PSW125 waiting at the door. He's got some sweet tube gear, too . I thought that was very generous of him; I am incredibly thankful. I have been hoping for a good musical speaker for so long, but given my budget and college student status, I didn't think I'd have a speaker I could really enjoy for several years at least. Needless to say, I couldn't have gotten these on my own. He was even nice enough to throw in a pair of speaker cables, and is sending me some audio DVD's! We spoke for about an hour, and Jon is a really good guy. I got home and hooked the Lsi7's to my NAD C320BEE and..well, they haven't been shut off yet. I am floored at how good these little guys sound, especially with acoustic recordings. Very musical. And this is only a 50 wpc amp. Finally, a speaker I'm happy with and don't want to replace. I couldn't be happier! I couldn't hook up the PSW125 because for whatever reason it did not come with a power cord...but thats ok, because the Lsi7's sound great on their own! It's very kind, all of the giving that goes on on these forums. When I actually have something worth Karma-ing, I will definitely do so.
I am very grateful for this opportunity, and thanks again Jon, you just made someone's month. If I'm in town again, maybe we can talk analog and grab some of those crepes..the BBQ chicken one was delicious lol. Also, of course, thank you Doro for having this wonderful Karma in the first place.
On another note, does anyone know where maybe I can get that power cable? Will Polk send me one if I call them?

...man, you have $1700 towers..you can't be doing too poorly lol.
How are those by the way? If the LSi7's are this good, I can only imagine LSi15's...- Jeremy

Zitro, here is a link to the speakers cables I'll give you cause I'm too lazy to take a pic. Nothing fancy, just nice 10 AWG wire with bananas on one end and bare wire on the other. I think they are about 9 or 10 feet long each. PM me were you want them shipped to and I'll get them out in a few days. Peace.

I only got LSi15s because I managed to get them for less than what the LSi7s go for. Since you're checking out my profile - look at what other equipment I have paired up with them - no amp, no dac, but an Onkyo AVR, and generic cabling all around. Honestly it's a shame to the LSi15s that I can't afford better stuff for them...=( -

Link doesn't work, but hey, it may not be fancy but its better than I have now. I feel like such a good speaker deserves some good wire. Thanks a lot, that's very much appreciated. I will PM you shortly. Club Polk really does feel like a family, as weird as that sounds. Wow, LSi15's for less than LSi7 price? Good deal man. It's amazing what you can find in the used market if you're an audiophile..people seem to always be upgrading to better things, and good used equipment trickles down at good prices to people who are more on a budget. Plus, its fun and gratifying to shop for bargains- Jeremy

Where do you attend school?
UCF, or the University of Central Florida. I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't heard of it; even though we are the 3rd largest school in the country (53k students ) with good academics, we are only 41 years old and are not very strong athletically yet, which seems to be what gets national attention if you aren't Ivy League. Studying psychology as an undergrad to pursue neuropsychology at the PsyD level; I'm fascinated by Oliver Sacks work, if you know who that is. I was surprised, because when I went to pick up the LSi7's from Jon, he knew about him and we spoke on the topic for a while. He actually does a lot of work with music's effect on the brain. But yes, I would like to work with mental disorders, if this economy doesn't destroy me once I exit school
How about you? You're all the way on the other side of the country lol. Where are you studying and what are you doing?- Jeremy

3rd year, Iv'e got 2 semesters left after this one. Yeah, I am actually looking into UCLA for grad school, but the area is not cheap to live in, so we'll see. I've never been to Cali, but everyone I know who has been there likes it.- Jeremy

Its not luck, there are a lot of good people at club polk.
So, what else do you need? A new rack, a power conditioner, a new house with dedicated listening room and isolated power circuits...Vinyl, the final frontier...
Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want...
